Epson have always brought quality photo printers to the market with impressive spec sheets. Their latest offering is the R285 which gives high resolution photo prints up to A4 without a hefty price tag. The Epson R285 can be purchased for under £60 if you look hard enough and the printer ink cartridges are around £40 when bought in a multi-pack. The Epson R285 uses six individual ink cartridges which gives it an excellent colour range for producing vibrant photo prints. Epson ink cartridges feature a new technology called “Claria photographic ink” which, according to Epson, produces high definition without smudging and helps stop the signs of aging such as fading. Coupled with the fact that that the printer can print at a maximum resolution of 5760 x 1440 dpi (dots per square inch) the Stylus photo R285 will no doubt bring life to the dullest of photographs. Another great feature of the printer is its ability to print directly onto compatible CD and DVD discs. This eliminates the need to sticky labels and makes producing professional looking presentations on disc far quicker and easier.

If you are on a budget and feel although you can afford the printer you can’t afford the replacement cartridges, there is an alternative; Compatible inks for the Epson R285 are widely avaible and cost half the price of the genuine Epson ones. Although these compatible inks do not feature Epson’s Claria photographic ink they do offer excellent print results and great value for money.
